KENT, Tenn.
— Toddler Todd Kiyoko has been born with brain tumors, and the Tennessean reports the girl’s mother is struggling to cope.
Todd Kiyako’s parents were diagnosed with the tumors when she was a toddler.
The Tennesseant says the toddler was born with about a quarter of an inch of tissue on her brain.
Her mother, Kathy Kiyola, told the Tenneseean she doesn’t know if the tumor is permanent, but she’s hoping to be able to see Todd when she grows up.
Kiyola is not allowed to take Todd outside until she is at least 6 months old, but her husband says she will not be able wait.
He has set up a fund to help pay for treatment.
Todd is expected to be out of the hospital in two weeks, but Kathy says she is worried about how she will feel.
She said she has been told she may need to go to the emergency room, and is also worried about her children’s health.
“I’m not sure if I’m going to be OK,” Kathy said.
“My kids need me to be strong.
I have to be there for them.”
